Description for Hall Cleaning Services
Reporting to: McLaren Vale Hall Management Committee
Term: 4 hours per week (Mon and Fri early morning) plus further ad hoc as requested by hall management (excess cleaning may be required for busy times, large events etc)
Base: McLaren Vale Institute Hall
Purpose of role: To be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness of the Hall by performing a schedule of various cleaning duties as detailed below.
Overview. McLaren Vale Institute Hall is a heritage listed venue, with various spaces available for hire.
Key responsibilities:
Maintaining a clean and safe Hall.

Cleaning all areas in accordance with the schedule provided including entrance lobbies, main hall, committee room, supper room, the hall stage, toilets and 2 kitchens, ensuring they are maintained to a high standard.

Cleaning will include, but is not exclusive to mopping, sweeping floors, vacuuming, polishing, dusting, cleaning toilets.

Replenishing toilet paper, soap and deodorant blocks as required.

Emptying bins in kitchens and toilets and replacing bin bags. Removing waste to the appropriate area (outside council bins).

To report any day-to-day maintenance issues such as minor repairs, changing light bulbs etc. to the Hall management committee and Booking Manager.

Making safe any minor hazards found, ensuring areas are cordoned off if required for health and safety reasons.

Moving Hall furniture (if safe to do so) and cleaning equipment, as required.

To undertake all activities within the Halls Health and Safety Guidelines.
Period of contract: TBN
Hours of work: Set hours 4 hours per week, extra cleaning hours will be required when requested by the booking manager for large events etc.
Probation period: 3 months
